No one knows the truth about Mary No one knows the trouble she's seen No one said the truth isn't scary No one knows the truth about Mary Look Mary laughing at us She says life is worth living Look at Mary taking chances What do you say Mary Mary says let me stay in bed Mary says let it rain on my head But Mary loves the sun She wants to know everyone
2.
Brown and striped bird Have you even heard That pretty song you sing Boy, it makes my ears ring Chirping from so high In that great expanse of sky Oh, you pretty piece of pie Do what you gotta do, pretty bird, and fly
3.
Hey little Scorpio How'd you get so smart Ain't nothin' gonna please you But you're so cute I wanna squeeze you So much chocolate and orange juice Cannot be too good for you Turn into a dog Going for a jog Through the bog To visit your friend the frog How'd you like a postcard I sure would like a postcard How'd you like a little autumn leaf I sure would like a little autumn leaf bon jour comme ça I'd love to sing you to sleep ...

The Eclipse 03:46
Hello my little ghost Come to visit me again You've not been gone too long I wonder where you went While you were away I found gold But it's not for me This story's old I thought the blue skies had just come I thought to seek comfort in autumn And it seems like the rain gets in Seems like it's not been fixed since time knows when And the little boy comes He's made his way Here's the little boy Come to stay
5.
Transplanted in me Concentrated and solvent to see Immersed and bleeding in and out me Concentrated bottled and sealed I've rearranged and razed the bed But hid my loyalty beneath Still my cherished lodger remains My rooms are crowded with emptiness
6.
Early Late Still growing rust Slowness Haste Still merge with dust A simple measurement of time While weather dictates paradigm The latent promise in a Saturday Though veiled in showers of pouring rain Holds greater bounds of potency Than the fairest of all Sundays can Learn to accept disgrace willingly Surrender humbly
7.
Wave Me Down 04:17
If I could speak my mind And stand beside you If I could let my loose ends unwind ... I won't stop for nothing You can't make me stop for nothing I tell you now to go For I don't love you, but that you've always known Disappointment on my dreams Demon heat embraces me Wave me down with semaphore flags If I could speak my mind And stand beside you I'd try to cope with the undertow For I still love you, but that you've always known Disappointment on my dreams Demon heat embraces me
8.
Come on back in the autumn You can wear my sweaters Come on back when I need you most And we'll drink a little wine Come on back in the winter time Come on back, the hot chocolate's fine Come on back when I need you most And we'll drink a little wine Come on back in the spring time Come on back for roses and rainy sunshine Come on back when I need you most And we'll drink a little wine Come on back in the summer time We'll pick tomatoes right off the vine Come on back when I need you most And we'll drink a little wine Come on back in the morning Hot coffee with the honey right in there Come on back when I need you most We'll hang up the hammock Right in the clean laundry And we'll drink a little wine

Oh time that was so dear It's the last day of the year I'm so glad to see it gone Everyone familiar, strange Went through some big life change Every single one I know Some big ol' change did undergo this year Change comes slow and hard So pay heed and do regard Every little thing you feel Every little thing is real somehow Slow train, the doors are wide Whistle blows and everyone must ride Everybody must ride To each last friend of mine I toast and drink red wine Further now we're intertwined The pain and love is all enshrined in this year The wind's whistling through the pines I'm eager now and it smells so fine Winds of change please fill my sail I pray that true love shall prevail in me
10.
I've been wanting to talk to you my friend There's something I need to tell you We've been through so much and I was there for you And now you're doing fine Now I don't want to embarrass you But I just want to put you up on this pedestal 'Cause I'm so proud of you I'm so proud of you It seems that things are now the other way around And you are here for me And though I'm down I'm still proud of you Because you are my friend You are my friend
11.
The glimmering sun you've seen All the places you have been And all things you've been shown Keep with you alone Behind me stay - you must In a haven for the dust Where from my factories All the rust is free No one joins me for long Nothing ever done is wrong For all your trying it will never be just And all that you're buying is fleeting as lust Do the owls know or care of your campaign Do the angels believe in your pain With deeds all in a book Where no one may ever look What have books preserved Anything each one deserved? Of the bones and skulls you've found Only I know their sound You will be bones too Who'll sing songs of you No one joins me for long Nothing ever done is wrong Soon who will care about sides of a coin Soon, the old bones it will be time to join Has your hand left a mark, has your blood left a stain Do the angels believe in your pain

about

The version of Rainy Saturday Morning you will hear is actually a remix/remaster I made in 2008 with some digital type equipment. The whole thing was originally recorded on a Yamaha four track portastudio in Athens, GA in 1997 and 1998 and released on cassette. If you download the album you will find bonus photos of the original cassette insert, and two bonus demo tracks!

After over a decade of writing and recording a couple hundred songs,
I thought I should try to take it up a notch and make a "real album."
This was what I came up with at the time.
Many Thanks to those who assisted me!
