Summerside 03:03
Put your camera away As darkness falls again Take a fieldtrip to the fields of Summerside Summerside You'll know the sea is near Salt is in the air And even from the fields you'll hear Breakers on the strand Set your cold devices down Feel the sand Take a fieldtrip to the fields of Summerside Take a vow To be here now

Far beyond the language of sign It's a whole new way to see Under a clear sky you cry No clouds to ponder, Now you cannot prophesy Oh, Cloud Visionary What do you see? The secret knowledge slate is blank Tell us, is life a cruel prank Please share what's in your mind Oh Child, please be kind Oh, Cloud Visionary What do you see? Speak to me child Tell me what you see Speak to me child Tell me what you see The world of zeros and ones We know that it's not real So look now to the sky for us Its secrets to reveal Oh Child, enlighten us For the maze of clouds does frighten us Now let us pick your brain Oh Child, please be sane Oh Child Cloud Visionary What do you see? Child Cloud Visionary What do you see?...

Aloka 03:03
The sacred poems are not written down They're uttered by me with a fuzzy-buzz sound Let's don't waste time with language-y things My digery-doo-lee-o charms as it sings I clear my throat to clear your mind With a musical note of a windy-ish kind The note that I play is higher than C The note that I play is lower than E Aloka in the yard Practices so hard Aloka in a tent In his element Stand on a stump in the yard in the back I'll be a giant mosquito and I'll suck out the black Closing your eyes makes in invisible Closing your mind makes it ishkabibble Aloka's jungle breeze frees your mind disease Thee antithesis Of mental Achilles Every human being has the bomb of Devine love inside

Sandy Diamond Where are you going With that light in your hand At this hour Sandy Diamond The season's not right And it's far too dark To plant your flower Guess I'm goin' To yon forest Gonna find a tall, tall tree With a strong limb Guess I'm goin' Away up there A vision will come to me I'll sing my own hymn Sandy Diamond What you gonna see And what you gonna sing From the sky Guess we'll know You and me both When I do what I do So please stand by I'll do what I do So please stand by Sandy Diamond Sandy Diamond...

Welcome to my Guest House I am a human being The Guest House is me Every morning a new arrival A momentary awareness comes Unexpectedly A visitor for me Maybe an upset Maybe a joy Maybe a meanness back again Welcome them all and entertain them Even if they are a crowd of sorrows Who violently sweep your house Treat each guest with honor He may be clearing you out for some new delight The dark thought The shame The malice Be grateful for whatever comes Meet them at the door laughing Invite them in Each has been sent as a guide from beyond

I've been looking for the unseen world Another world that is right here where we are But even lookin when my eyes are closed That world remains elusive Something's in my way Something's in my way I've been listening for the unheard sound Another voice saying what we cannot say But even listening in my silent room That sound remains elusive This world is too loud This world is too loud If I thirst for the ultimate Can I be ready for what pours from the spring And if I ask for what I need Will it be too marvelous Too marvelous to hear Too marvelous to see As much as a pen knows what it is writing As much as a car knows where it is driving to As much as a ball can guess its direction Nothing's like I thought it would be I've been looking for the unseen world Another way of being right here where we are But even looking when my eyes are closed That world remains elusive Let me find the joy Let me find the joy

about

The recording of this album started in late 2018, though all the songs on it were written many years earlier. Most of my life in music has been writing and recording decent demos of all my songs as I write them, and assuming I would record the "real" versions later. For many of the songs on Spirit Jargon, later has meant decades later.

I gathered this group of songs that I felt belonged together though they were written through the years and far apart from each other. I guess I had the advantage of long-term planning for arrangements and such.

It was my pleasure to have many excellent musician friends execute my musical ideas on the instruments they all play so well. Thank you Friends!

Also, I was lucky to have the mixing of this album done by the brilliant Isaac de Broux-Sloan who did audio maneuvers I could not have done.
